Junior Frontend Engineer

Responsibilities
- Help develop the next generation of Shutterfly’s smart product creation tools
- Debug, maintain, and improve existing frontend development
- Create smart widgets that suggest personalized products to millions of users using their photos
- Design and build flexible pipelines that can evolve rapidly to handle new technologies and modeling approaches
- Take full ownership of projects from conception to production
- Convert requirements into simple, elegant, and optimal solutions
- Work with team members and other groups to achieve company goals

Skills and Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent education
- 2+ years of experience as a frontend developer with proficiency in the latest versions of HTML5, JSON, CSS3, React, Redux, and other JavaScript libraries (such as Angular, Web Components), as well as common CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Pure, etc.)
- Knowledge of code architecture and design patterns
- Positive, "can-do" team player
- Experience with responsive web design and a solid understanding of SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture)
- Excellent understanding of how one or more open-source frameworks work
- Ability to take ownership of features from concept to deployment, work independently with stakeholders, and collaborate with other developers
- Self-learner, passionate about providing technical guidance, applying best practices, and thinking outside the box

Bonus Points for:
- Experience in cloud computing and/or AWS services
- Experience in backend languages such as Node.js
- Experience in end-to-end big data and/or large-scale performance challenges
- Experience developing and working with RESTful web services and client-server architectures
